WHO
I'm a professional musician, composer and producer working for 20 years.
HOW
I picked up the guitar at the age of 9 playing classical music and continued with rock/grunge/folk at 15. I started playing jazz, groove, funk and then fell in love with musics of the world : North India, Ethiopia, West Africa, Brazil among others. And of course I ended digging electronic music.
I began recording my own compositions at the age of 18 and got my first job as a composer for Galeries Lafayette in 2005. I kept on composing/producing music and sound design for ads, fashion, and kept on with documentaries, series, or short movies, working for France 2, France 5, ARTE, TF1…
I also co-created in 2008 (and still tour with) the band Arat Kilo. Trying new instruments over the years, I also drums, trumpet, trombone, percussions, oud, bass, various percussions…
WHAT
In my life as a composer, i never set limits on styles because as long as I can put my vibe on a song, i can enjoy composing and mixing it.
Being completely self-taught in music and technics, I’ve developed my own way of composing mainly based on sound. When I’m composing I’m thinking in the same time to the melody and the sound I wanna have, in which space i wanna be, what intention…
As a composer, i rarely compose in the styles that i play live and that's what i love in my work. As a live musician, i mainly play groove, jazz and world music. But as a composer, most of the time i work on electro, sound design or pop. And whatever the style, i love getting the right sound, fit in the brief i'm given while finding something personal that make it mine. And passing from a minimal electro beat to a symphonic orchestra is what give me ideas to be creative with composition, producing, mixing. And that's why i chose that job !
WHY
I had another life before becoming a professional musician/composer. I have a bachelor degree in Economics (Sorbonne) and i worked several years in the music business (Record Company, Management, Booking) before playing, composing and mixing music professionally. But i really had too much music in my mind to do something else !
